This classic English specimen features several golden-yellow penetration twins of fluorite from the well-known Hilton Mine.
Yellow Fluorite from Hilton mine in the Northern Pennine Orefield needs no introduction, although the wide variety of shades may come as some surprise. We typically see pale saffron to more intense lemon-yellows, but sometimes, like in this specimen, the Fluorite adopts a vivid golden lemon, zingy enough to instantly make your mouth water!

Striking, upright, disk-like, tapered calcite rhombs to a large 8.5 cm comprise this dramatic piece. The glassy, translucent crystals have striated faces. MD46AB1: Fine druse of small tabular Baryte crystals with pale yellow pinacoidal faces and thin vivid red prismatic faces whose color is due to Hematite inclusions. The crystal size and the quality are superior to the usual from this locality.

Yellow Fluorite from Hilton mine in Scordale in eastern Cumbria is recognised and loved around the world. It is truly a Northern England classic, although recognition of these exceptionally fine specimens did not come about until the late 1970''s when collectors and mine explorers investigated what had been chiefly regarded as an old Baryte mine.
